Namco Taiko Blog (9 June 2011) - Namco x Sega collaboration!

After the musical tribute for Sonic's 10th anniversary in the iPhone games, the incoming Taiko DX is going to welcome another trio of Game Music songs, coming from Ōta's famous software house. Incidentially, two of them have custom dancers as well!

The 1st new song, MachineGun Kiss, comes from the videogame Yakuza OF THE END (龍が如く OF THE END), released in Japan today. The cartoon-ized characters of the game are cel-shaded, just like the ones in the iPhone Taiko's RIP SLYME songs.

If you focus enough your attention on the first image, you'll notice Don-chan wearing a strange costume. It's going to be in the game, but what is it?

Then, for the joy of most Miku fans, the 2nd surprise Sega song comes directly from the rhythm game Project DIVA - 2nd. Hatsune Miku no Gekishou (Intense Singing of Hatsune Miku) is going to shake PSP users with the same custom dancers already seen in Taiko 14.

And yes, even this cameo song comes with a custom Miku outfit:

If you haven't heard the song before, or if you think you've heard it before and want to confirm it, here's the video. This is the first Miku song in Taiko that isn't made by Ryo of Supercell, but by another popular Vocaloid composer, cosmoP.

In the end, the last Sega track is a pleasant return from the 9th Taiko arcade. MAGICAL SOUND SHOWER, from the racing series OutRun, is ready to approach the console atmosphere! Looks like we have another lucky revival from a single arcade, as happened for URBAN FRAGMENTS in the 3rd Wii game.
