Namco Taiko Blog (30 August 2012)- Watching the Moon on September

Monthly arcade posting is now up, with a double online tournament being held and of course, September's Don Challenge!

The online tournament is for both expert and aspiring players, with two separate competitions being held for Oni and Muzukashii difficulty. The rules are the same; get the highest score you can on the songs involved in the tournament and the top 100 will get another special title in addition to the one for participating. There are more than one song involved now, but players do not have to finish them all in one play.

Oni tournament
-Telecastic fake show
-Famires Wars
-Chiriyuku Ran no Tsuduru Uta

Muzukashii tournament
-Memeshikute
-Orion o Nazoru
-Chiriyuku Ran no Tsuduru Uta

For participating, you get either one of these two titles based on which tournament you enter, 'Donder Matsuri Summer Battle (Oni)' (ドンだー祭り 夏の陣(おに)) or 'Donder Matsuri Summer Battle (Muzukashii)' (ドンだー祭り 夏の陣(むずかしい)). The top 100 scorers in the Oni division get an extra title too!

Now for the Don Challenge. September 2012's special song is the Namco Original song, 'Sword Battlers' (ソードバトラーズ), first seen on the magazine scan of Katsu-Don showing a hint of a password for Taiko 3DS.

Don-chan also gets a special costume for this month, the 'Tsukimi Dango' costume. 'tsukimi dango' are dumplings typically made and eaten by the Japanese during the eighth lunar month, while admiring the full moon of the autumn months.

Ah, but what if you missed out on August's Don Chare? The song 'Chiriyuku Ran no Tsuduru Uta' is now open to all players, as promised, but the Sunflower costume and special title are no longer obtainable. Get your goodies within this month to avoid disappointment!
