Yesterday, another collaboration has been officially announced, once again between Taiko no Tatsujin and the role-playing game series Dragon Quest, focusing on their latest game, Dragon Quest X, released on Wii and Wii U. We already know that the latest game's overture will be in the fifth Taiko Wii game, but this collab has more stuff to offer!

Square-Enix's RPG series drawn to life by Akira Toriyama is going to appear both on arcade and on consoles (Wii and iOS). Let's see in order what it concerns:

Arcade

The overture theme of the aforementioned Dragon Quest X will be a playable song in Taiko, just like the previous one (and all with pretty much the same melody). On arcade, it will feature a set of another common enemy which come from the very first game: ghosts!

This new song will be added to the Katsu-Don arcades with the software update 2.09, along with the other new J-Pop/Anime songs. That update is being released today, so expect some video footage of the new songs soon!

Taiko no Tatsujin Wii 5

Chogouka-Ban's trailer and the online web shops already spoiled this piece of information since last month, so this isn't a big surprise anymore. Unlike the arcade counterpart, the Overture on Wii will have different dancers; the six different races of Astoltia available for creating the player's character (Human, Ogre, Elf, Dwarf, Puklipo and Weddie).

Both the Wii and the arcade games will feature a themed DQ costume as well! By clearing the song, players will be able to wear a unique Slime outfit:

The RPG series will also hit the iOS games very soon! Not much details yet, but stay tuned.

On the other side, Dragon Quest X will feature part of Taiko no Tatsujin's magic as well; from today onwards, players can join the 'Dragon Quest Paradise' event, in which they can obtain Don-Chan and Kat-Chan as furniture elements for Slime's house. The two drums will be available in two different poses, shown below:

For further informations about this event you can also visit Dragon Quest's website (in Japanese). The DQ event will end on October 11th, so hurry up if you have a copy of this game!
