Livestream Recap (May 9 2014) - Reitaisai, National Tournament Finals and 3DS2

The livestream on May 9 2014 is available only on NicoNico Live. A first in this stream is the comment challenge, in which different rewards are unlocked by achieving total comment number goals among all of the audience. This show is hosted by the usual Etou and Takemoto (also live-tweeting), plus the first-ever appearance of Daifuku in person.

Right before any important info comes in, the 10,000-comment has been achieved. The Twitter icon unlocked will be put up in a later official blog post.

First up in the stream is more information on the Reitaisai appearance. Before anything, Etou reminds everyone of the details so far: the time and place, the 3 songs for exclusive preview, and the Hakurei Reimu outfit that is up for grabs.

Interesting trivia if you follow charter news: Necrofantasia is charted by Etou, Kero(9)destiny by Kan, and Tsuki ni Murakumo Hana ni Kaze by a certain new charter.

Now onto new details: in addition to the existing 5 songs plus the 3 exclusive previews, exhibiting cabinets will also hosts 4 more limited songs that will only be available at Reitaisai and nowhere else. Notably, all of them are completely new songs that is due to be released at this Reitaisai! Talk about a quick inclusion! The limited songs are:

Just around the conclusion of the Touhou section, the 20,000-comment goal is also completed. The Race Car (head) outfit has swiftly got a 500-point discount in the Momoiro Rewards Shop.

The hosts move on to welcoming Daifuku to her first livestream. The audience is then asked to choose an icon for her, and Strawberry Daifuku (いちご大福) was voted first. That idea was further developed a bit and now we have the Light Type Strawberry Daifuku (光属性のいちご大福).

Then the show progresses with 3 telephone interviews, with Matsuu (Kyushu A), Boruchan (Shikoku) and Hinawin (Chuukoku). Unfortunately, Rizeru (Kinki C) and Zeima (Koushin) was not available then, and the team read out prepared messages from them instead. The team then takes a small break.

The comment number passes both 30,000 and 50,000 marks, respectively during the interviews and during the break. The 30,000-comment free title part is voted to be the namesake "Light Type" (光属性) among other light-type related suggestions, and the 50,000-comment smartphone wallpaper will come in a future blog post. We also catch a glimpse of a prototype of Daifuku's new icon.

Next onto 3DS2 topics. The live gameplay footage gives us more insight into how the story mode will be played. The overworld, battle and configuration of teams and equipment are shown.

Nothing new is explicitly stated in the song list department, although we are hinted that there would be a new Classical song (a one-year-plus gap after Mars on Wii5) and a new Idolm@ster song.

Then another interactive section follows. The audience are asked to suggest and vote on who of past Taiko characters you want to see in 3DS2. And surprisingly, the non-canonical Tatsudon (Standing Don) made the list with over half of the votes. Looks like Tatsudon will finally be official one way or another.

Next we have more telephone interviews with Kamui (Hokuriku), Shaka (Kanagawa), Light? (Tohoku A) and Jugem (Tokyo A), and the prepared message from unavailable Mikan (Hokkaido).

And during the interviews the last three goals of 76,500, 87,600 and 100,000 comments has also passed. Be prepared for Etou's Kitchen Live, Etou in Tatsudon T-shirt and PaPaPa Love in Momoiro!

The last information the stream brought us is the prospect of a new 2000 song! The title is ドンカマ2000 / Donkama 2000 and will be first available via DonChare in June. (ref. 3-second preview on the Sorairo Sountrack)
