Taiwan Tourney 2014: Finals Rules Now Out

Rules slide cover from Sume Facebook Fan Page

As summer closing in on the end, it's time to let out the long-awaited Taiwan Tournament Finals! Today Sume released a set of slides detailing the rules and regulations. Let's go through them quickly together!

The finals will be on August 30 from 13:30 in an arcade centre in Taipei, with registration starting one hour early. (If nothing too bad happens that is.)

The mode is a single elimination for our 16 finalists. Up to the semi-finals the rules will be like the typical tournament proceedings, where each player gets to choose a song to play against each other, and the best overall score moves to the next round. Eight songs are designated for the finalists the choose. All of them are decently technical and/or hefty 9★ Oni, including some very recent songs!
  • Sanpo (Ura)
  • Rokuchounen to Ichiya Monogatari (Regular)
  • Kero (9) destiny
  • Night of Knights
  • Flight of the Bumblebee
  • Denshi-drum no Tatsujin
  • Spring Dragon ~Haryu~ (Ura)
  • Red Rose Evangel

For the champion and runner-up battles, the songs will be designated by the organizers. Joubutsu or Yuugen anyone?

The common rules is again very similar. Shin-uchi and Shin-uchi only in terms of modifiers, and no changes/coverings on the cabinet save for the weirdly-for-Taiwan permission to use your own sticks.

For the souvenirs, there is no word other than a T-shirt for every finalist to wear during the match and with which free to take home. Again, Joubutsu or Yuugen anyone?

Check out other details, including the list of finalists and rules on appointing substitutes, in the official album linked below!
