Namco Taiko Blog (24 January 2014) - Taiko no Tatsujin x Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls collab!

A surprise blog update doesn't happen on Saturdays that often, let alone about collaboration breaking news! It's sure no surprise to Taiko games at this point though, as they're getting even more Idolm@ster content, thanks to its latest sub-series.

Announced during a very recent Im@s livestream, this collaboration event is based on the 2011 mobile game THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls (アイドルマスター シンデレラガールズ), a portable entry for the franchise that merges the series' talent agency management with mobile-oriented features/gimmicks, featuring (up to date) over 200 recruitable characters between idols, trainers and 765 Production icons from the main series.

As Cinderella Girls has been ported on i-devices last November and a proper Anime series has started this month, this new event brings closer the two major, music-based Bandai Namco franchises once again. After all, the Idolm@ster girls themselves already seem to be ahead of the party...

... *a-hem*. This collaboration event will start to kick in with the next arcade update to Kimidori Version, which is still scheduled on January 29th. From that date, everyone can play a song from the Cinderella Girls mobile game, titled Please! Cinderella (お願い!シンデレラ). Said song will be added to the Game Music genre.

For Cinderella Girls players with a Donder Hiroba account, the fun doesn't stop there! After playing the song once, a code will be sent to the Im@s game for claiming a limited-edition collectible card, featuring idol Rika Jougasaki playing somke Taiko as well. Now is it me, or do I smell custom dancers behind the corner...?

It's possible to claim special goods the other way around, too: after reaching Level 10 on the Im@s game, a code will be sent for the player's Donder Hiroba, which will grant the unlock of Star!, the Cinderella Girls anime's opening theme, ahead of public release in mid-March. Both this song and Please! Cinderella will indeed feature new custom dancers from the show's characters.

If playing new Idolm@ster song is still not enough, head over the Donder Hiroba after playing the two new songs in order to claim the unlock of a custom Petit Chara (ぷちキャラ), a brand new outfit part for the Kigurumi outfit scheme that can be worn with any other body/head costume/coloring scheme combination of your choice! So far, only two variants of Petit Chara are known: the one in the picture above and this one:

With so many new features, this collaboration has something for everyone! The event will end on March 8th. See you later, with our returning Saturday feature!
