Like many other long-running rhythm games, Taiko games have been no stranger to song sequels/series over the years. In an interesting turn of events, this year's beginning marked the debut of an original song which is part of a song series totally external to rhythm games! But let's proceed with order and start with some details about this song's maker.

The mysterious t+pazolite is an hardcore/speedcore music producer who, despite the unknown surroundings about his origins and real name, has been quite popular among independent music circles with his songs since 2004. While being one of the eldest members of the music circle HARDCORE TANO*C, t+pazolite also owns his own music label/circle called 'C.H.S.', standing for "Cutie & Headshaking Sounds". From both circles, his works appeared in several albums, with some songs being included in recent years on rhythm games first, starting with bemani's SOUND VOLTEX games (both remixes and original songs) through contests and actual commissioned works for other series like maimai (Garakuta Doll Play), Groove Coaster (OMAKENO Stroke; Marry Me, Nightmare) and SEGA's incoming rhythm game franchise Chunithm. For more informations about his works and albums, t+pazolite's C.M.S. website, Twitter and SoundCloud profiles are good starting places.

As previously mentioned, Shiny Kung-fu Revival is actually part of a t+pazolite song series where techno/speedcore vibes and voice samples are used to give a personal spin to kung-fu fighters' combat spirit; as a result, some voice samples can be heard from the previous entries for said series. This Taiko-commissioned song is the third 'Kung-fu' song, after Kick-ass Kung-fu Carnival and Rumble Kung-fu Showdown; these two songs can be found respectively in the HARDCORE SYNDROME 5 and Kenran Kenso Orient (絢爛喧騒オリエント) albums.

Taiko Team leader Etou contributed in both this song and its notechart's creation, ultimately resulting into a fast-paced tune whose BPM is slightly higher than Kita Saitama 2000's, making for an aggressive barrage of consecutive 1/16 note clusters on Oni mode. As this isn't enough, 1st-time players have to face sudden scrolling bursts for giant notes all along the play!
