Touhou Corner: Immaterial and Missing Power

Released on December 30th, 2004, Touhou Suimusou (lit. 'Gathering Reverie') ~ Immaterial and Missing Power (東方萃夢想 ~ Immaterial and Missing Power) is the very first official spin-off to ZUN's Touhou Project series, with the narrated story being chronologically set between the events of Perfect Cherry Blossom and Imperishable Night, thus being labeled as the '7.5th' game of the series.

In this game, Reimu Hakurei and other Gensokyo entities are having multiple 3-days-long parties at the Hakurei Shrine in celebration of the Spring's return after the PCB incident, all while a mysterious mist lurks in the air. As one of the Windows games' formerly-introduced characters from the series' lore, the player is called to fight his way through the others in order to find out what's behind the mist and the feasts, ultimately resulting in the discovery of long time lost oni Suika Ibuki, which is using her ability to gather the people's hearts together by turning herself into the mist and leading them to celebrate non-stop.

Diverging from the well-established danmaku shmup formula, Immaterial and Missing Power is a 2D fighting game, starring many characters from the previous games brawling with a barrage of punch/kicks and bullet-based attacks with the usage of their spell cards. A first in the series, ZUN's Team Shanghai Alice has collaborated with doujin circle Tasogare (lit. 'Twilight') Frontier (黄昏フロンティア) for the creation of this and the future spin-off fighting titles.

Up to this point, all of the IMP-related arrangements in Taiko gaming consist of songs that have been exclusive only to Hakurei Shrine Reitasai events, with no public appearance to date.
